Japan During Cherry Blossom Season

Last April, I spent a 11 days in Japan during cherry blossom season. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. We started in Tokyo and made our way through Osaka, Kyoto, and Mt. Fuji.

In Tokyo we hit all the big spots: Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku. We ate so much good food and did way too much shopping. Every corner had something new to see and shoot.

Osaka had some of the best food of the trip. We tried takoyaki, ramen, okonomiyaki, and more. My favortie thing I ate was strawberry tanghulu, which is sugar coated fruit. It was a little more laid back than Tokyo. We stopped at the Osaka castle and took pictures at sunset, which was realy cool because its the first castle, besides the Disney World Cinderellas castle, I’ve ever seen.

Kyoto was full of temples and shrines. It felt peaceful and really different from the cities. We visited Fushimi Inari, Kinkaku-ji, and a bunch of smaller spots too. The cherry blossoms made everywhere so gorgeous and bright. We also visited the Nara Deer park, where wild deer roam the park freely, and if youre lucky enough, they’ll even bow down to you.

Seeing Mt. Fuji was the final stop and the perfect way to end the trip.

I came home with so many photos and even more memories. Japan in the spring is unreal. I definitely recommend visiting while the Cherry blossoms are in season.
